Mondays 6:30-7:30pm: Understanding Flamenco

Description: This is the very core and foundation of Flamenco.  Here we learn about the 'compas', different 'palos' (rhythms), palmas, structure, improvisation, we learn to understand and make sense of the cante and guitar, we aquire a musical understanding and the communicative aspect of flamenco.  This is the bread and butter, here is where you'll find all the richness of flamenco.   

 

Tuesdays 5:30-6:30pm: Sevillanas

Description: Fun and Festive, Sevillanas are danced by all ages, sexes, couples, singles, during celebrations, gatherings, fiestas, often by whole families and pueblos.  They are a type of folk music and dance, from Andalusia (Southern Spain). Sevillanas are very useful as they are used especially at parties and social gatherings.  Generally speaking, Sevillanas are a light and happy music and dance.

 

Wednesdays 2:00-3:00pm: Kids Beginning Level

 

Thursdays 4:00-5:00pm: Sevillanas **(Held @ Oro Valley Parks & Rec. 11143 N. La Cañada Dr. #107.  Please register online at www.orovalleyaz.gov) **

 

Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm: Beginning Dance Technique & Choreography

Wednesdays 6:30-7:40pm: Beginning Level Progressive Class/6-week Cycle

                    7:50-9:00pm: Intermediate Level Progressive Class/6-week Cycle

Classes are held at the "Historic Y" (738 N. 5th Ave).  Classes are held on the upper floor. Please call or write if you'd like to be added onto the e-mail list for updates on classes.

 

2nd & 4th Sundays 5:00-6:00pm: Beginning Level.  Drop-Ins welcome.
